Title BICM Based Cooperative Amplify and Forward Transmission: Analysis and Simulation Results
Authors Mr. Syed Shah, Mohammad Ali Jinnah University, Islamabad, Pakistan
, , ,
Abstract This work is based on [2], where it has been shown that bit-interleaved coded modulation (BICM) with Gray labelling outperform the spectral efficent coding modulation (CM) scheme in fading environments. In this paper, the idea of BICM has been extended to cooperative amplify and forward (AF) transmission and the results are compared with BICM based direct as well as decode and forward (DF) transmission. The channel model has been extended to general case, where the communicating terminals can have multiple antennas and there are multiple relays. Assuming perfect channel state information (CSI), it has been observed that AF outperform direct and DF transmission in most scenarios.
