Abbas Mohammed is a Professor of Telecommunications Theory at the Department of Signal Processing, Blekinge Institute of Technology, Sweden. He received his PhD degree in Telecommunication Systems from Liverpool University in 1992 and the DSc degree in Radio Communications and Navigation from Blekinge Institute of Technology, Sweden, in 2001. He received the Blekinge Research Foundation "Researcher of the Year Award and Prize" in 2006. He is a Fellow of the IEE and the UK Royal Institute of Navigation. He is a Board Member of IEEE Signal Processing Swedish Chapter, Associate Editor of the International Journal of Navigation and Observation, a Board Member of the Radio Engineering Journal, and an Editorial Advisory Board Member of the of the Mediterranean Journal of Electronics and Communications. He has been the Guest Lead Editor to Several Special Issues in International Journals and a member of the scientific committee to several international conferences. He is active in many European Community research projects. He has published extensively on telecommunications, signal processing and radio navigation systems. He is actively involved in many European Union research projects.
