Biography
Dr. Mamoun Alazab received his PhD in Computer Science from the Federation University Australia, Australia. He is a cyber security researcher and practitioner with industry and academic experience. Dr Alazab’s research is multidisciplinary that focuses on cyber security and digital forensics of computer systems including current and emerging issues in the cyber environment like cyber-physical systems and internet of things, by taking into consideration the unique challenges present in these environments, with a focus on cybercrime detection and prevention.
He has published more than 70 research papers in many international journals and conferences. Two of his papers were selected as the featured articles, and the recipient of: two best paper awards, short fellowship from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, two teaching and learning awards. He served as the Associate Editor of IEEE Access, and the editor of the Security and Communication Networks, and as the Book Review Section Editor: Journal of Digital Forensics, Security and Law.
He presented many invited and Keynotes talks at prestigious conferences and venues (19 events in 2017 alone). He served on Program Committees of more than 70 conferences and events and have organized more than five conferences as a General Chair. Dr Alazab is a Senior Member of the IEEE.
