Welcome to the Workshop on QoS Modeling, Control Engineering and Security of Communication Networks (QCS-NET2009). The workshop is jointly organized by Mosharaka for Researches and Studies and Working Group 6.9: Communications Systems for Developing Countries - International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) Technical Committee 6 (TC6 - Communications Systems). The organization of this workshop comes as part of the IFIP-TC6 teaching activities for the year 2009.

The main objective of the workshop is to give the attendees an overview of recent topics on communication technologies, network security, quality of service and control engineering in wireless communications. Other objectives are to increase attendees ability to design, implement and maintain communication networks, and to increase their ability to implement new services and applications.

Target audience of the workshop includes academics, professionals, and post-graduate and graduate students in communications engineering, computer engineering, computer science, and other communications and information technology disciplines.

The workshop tutorial sessions will be presented in English.

QCS-NET2009 is co-located with Mosharaka International Conference on Communications, Signals and Coding (MIC-CSC2009), to be held in Amman, Jordan in the period 19-21 November 2009. Coming to Jordan represents a unique opportunity to witness the embrace of history and future. As small in area as it is, Jordan has a rich history spanning thousands of years, that a tourist can only admire.
