MIMO and UWB techniques have shown an increasing interest in many scenarios including tunnels. In this case, the energy is received/transmitted within a small solid angle, limiting the rich multipath components found in other scenarios. However, it has been theoretical demonstrated that capacity is enhanced using Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) rather than single-input single-output (SISO). However, limited information is available on results based on measured transfer functions and using typical algorithms such as VBLAST and STBC. In this paper we show experimental performance results within the frequency bands defined in the standard multiband OFDM ultrawideband (MB-OFDM UWB), using either VBLAST and STBC, and these results are compared to SISO
