Jordan

Coming to Jordan represents a unique opportunity to witness the embrace of history and future. As small in area as it is, Jordan has a rich history spanning thousands of years, a history that a tourist can only admire. Places like Petra and the Dead Sea are only examples of the many one-of-a-kind places to visit in Jordan. On top of all that, Jordan, as a peaceful country in a turbulent area, enjoys extreme levels of safety and security. Jordanian people are internationally known for generosity, hospitality and cultural awareness and tolerance.

Geomatics and Geotechnical Engineering Applications of Global Navigation Satellite System and Remote Sensing (GNSSRS 2020)

Summary

Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and Remote Sensing (RS) have broad applications, which are used for Geomatics and Geotechnical Engineering areas. Although several kinds of work already have been done on earthquake prediction, disaster management, and climate modeling, however, there is substernal scope for the more analysis which would be beneficial for further communication, navigation purposes, and saving of public lives and properties. This session will cover these applications and modeling in the areas of crustal deformation, strain analysis, and seismicity measurements. The hydrometeorological hazard is relatively frequent and constitutes a major threat to life and property within the palette of natural hazards. The Interferometric Reflectometry (like GNSS-IR, RS-IR) techniques are used to monitor the sea-level measurements from geodetic quality of receivers for identifying the nearby environment including the benefit of climate-dependent and independent sea level information. Additionally, the techniques have been established and validated for measuring the snow depth, tsunami, surface soil moisture, flooding inundation, inland water, storm signature tide records, tide gouge, vegetation water content, etc. In this session, we will focus on the conceptual frameworks and tools, case studies, and coalitions that inform effective management of these system services. Next, we will discuss the studies that focus on space and environmental physics such as the ionosphere, troposphere, cloud computing. Lastly, our plan is to include the case studies that focus on interdisciplinary assessments of Global Navigation Satellite System and Remote Sensing services in the other part of Science and Engineering.
