Welcome to the 1st International Congress on Engineering Technologies (EngiTek 2020). This event is intended to represent a major forum for researchers, professionals and students from all over the world to meet remotely to present their latest research results and to exchange new ideas and practical experiences.

EngiTek 2020 is planned to feature special sessions, keynote talks and tutorial sessions by leading experts, paper presentations, poster shows, demo shows, discussion panels, as well as other interesting technical activities.


Coming to Jordan represents a unique opportunity to witness the embrace of history and future. As small in area as it is, Jordan has a rich history spanning thousands of years, a history that a tourist can only admire. Places like Petra and the Dead Sea are only examples of the many one-of-a-kind places to visit in Jordan. On top of all that, Jordan, as a peaceful country in a turbulent area, enjoys extreme levels of safety and security. Jordanian people are internationally known for generosity, hospitality and cultural awareness and tolerance.

The synergistic effects between Identity and the Cultural landscape Architecture in MENA cities

Prof. Islam El-Ghonaimy, University of Bahrain, Isa Town, Bahrain

A senior ranking Landscape Architect Consultant since 2006. The author is a long-timer professional leading a 30-year experience vetting the manifold disciplines of architecture, urban design and landscape architecture. I did the honors of setting forth the consultation services in City Urban Planner. Professionally, I am a motivated eager beaver, for my encompassing disciplinary interest in Environmental Studies, Urban Planning, Management and Architectural studies equivalently. In 2014, I had been assigned to hold down a professor rank. Publications, I am renowned for his dozen books and handouts, 22 white papers and Articles in Refereed Professional Journals. Besides, I have issued 56 Papers submitted to Scientific and Professional Conferences and symposiums on equal grounds. Moreover, he burnt midnight oil fruited in his publications. And 11 articles for un-Scientific Magazine and 5 unpublished technical Reports. I have a hand in 25 other Activities as that of Short-timed Courses, Editorial Board, and Organisation Committee. I am referee in many conferences and academic symposiums as well as a scientific committee member. Since 2012, I Had been affiliated with University of Bahrain, College of Engineering, Department of Architecture and Interior Design

Summary

This presentation illustrates the role of the Cultural landscape Architecture in presenting the identity in the urban areas of the MENA cities. The experiential walkthrough assessment of the impacts of having artworks in the urban spaces (open spaces and functional places) is significant, especially with the present case of losing the identity and belonging in most of landscape architecture elements that are using in MENA cities in general and in the historical areas in particular. Manama, Al Khabar, and Alexandria cities, which will be the focus of the presentation. Urban designers understand the significant impacts of using the landscape architecture elements in enhancing the culture of the users for spaces. The assessment of using these elements should happen by examining the impacts upon spatial and socio-cultural aspects, which is regularly happen while implementing direct systematic observation and behavioral mapping procedure. The presentation contributes to an in-depth understanding of the qualities of the spaces and the resulting use, activities, and behavior representative of the inhabitants' spatial experience. The presentation assessment results reveal important outcomes that are having artworks influence positively upon identity feelings of the interacting of the users. Moreover, it increases the social and economic impacts, which if provided, can attract more users while supporting their needs
