Prof. K Subramanian, was the first director and Professor at Advanced center for Informatics and Innovative Learning(ACIIL), and introduced Advanced Technology, Engineering and Management Courses at Masters Level and started Research Programs in the Interdisciplinary areas of Knowledge Management, Informatics and Information and Communications Technologies and Management through Partnership Institutions @ IGNOU. He was one of the founder creators of National Informatics Center, Under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India and served there for 32 years .He served as the Information Technology Adviser to CAG of India (Comptroller & Auditor General of India) for more than a decade and Half and currently serving as an Honorary Adviser (IT). He has more than three and half decades of experience in Architecting, design, development, Implementation & Audit of Technology & Systems of the Federal/State/Districts in the Union of India.
He was a Pioneer in introducing Technology in Banking, Insurance and Financial services for more than three decades.He has Architected, designed and Implemented Systems for Government Finance & Audit Functions (central & State). He was Associated with IT/Systems/ITES design and Implementation and monioring of major MEGA IT Projects of Railways, Police, Introduction of Innovation, Productivity and Knowledge management in Government & Corporate He is a poineer in Techno- legal Issues on Cyber Laws and initiated Advanced Research and contributed in formation of National/International standards in Cyber Security, Audit and Forensics. In the field of Education, educational reforms, educational governance and administration, he is an expert, covering ICT Education & ICT in Education and Management and worked in developing Multi-tier Open Source eLearning, & Management Framework (Vedhyadara) for educational development, administration and Governance. He worked as chair and member of LTD(Electronics & communication) and Management systems committees of Bureau of Indian Standards(BIS). He has contributed in design of systems and network architectures for National Passport, Visa, Security, Police and Immmigration agencies of the Government. As an IT Adviser to CAG of India for more than 15 years, he has contributed in development of ICT infrastrucure , capacity building, and Techical Review & e Audit of e Governance Programs(from Planning, design, implementation, post review and ipact) in India in the Public Secor, Autonomous Bodies, educational institutins of both Central and State Governments. As a Capacity Building and Skill Development Expert, he was instrumental in the set up of ICISA(International Center for Information Systems Audit) Academy under CAG of India, National Institute of Financial Management, under Union Finance Ministry, IDRBT under Reserve Bank of India, SBIICM under State Bank of India, PNBIIT for the Punjab National Bank. In the area administering Quality Educatin and Educational Reforms, he has contributed and prepared a blueprint document for Gvernment of Japan “Education on Demand”. As an expert, has Served as member of Committee of NAAC(Min of HRD) for accreditations of Institutions and Served as a member of Technical Committees of Quality Council of India (QCI) for certifying certifiers:-IS 9000, IS 27000, IS 20000 Standards.
He has many Professional Body Affiliations, such as Fellow of IETE, National Telematics Forum, Indian Science Association, Indian Institute of Standards Engineers , Senior Member of IEEE (USA)(IEEE computer, IEEE communications, IEEE Systems, Man & Cybernetics, IEEE Engineering Management, IEEE Education, etc.,)., Member of All India Management Association, All India Association of Educational Research, American Information Society(AIS), Association of Computing Machinery- ACM(USA), Association of Certified Fraud Examiners(ACFE,USA) and a Senior Life Member of Computer Society India(CSI). He was the Founder and currently emeritus president of e-information systems, security, and audit association. (E-ISSA) , and the past President –Cyber Society of India. He is a Member director in the board of Commonwealth Center for Electronic Governance, India Chapter., Member of Academic Board, ITZ Group of Institutions, Ghaziabad, Mohan Nagar campus, Academic & Governing Board Member of NIILM, CME, Greater Noida, and. Served as academic council member for IGNOU. |
