Biography
My permanent position is Associate Professor of Medical Entomology and Molecular Biology at the Faculty of Science, Ain Shams Univ., Cairo, Egypt. I am affiliated to it since 1991 with broad experience in teaching biological sciences with major interest in molecular and cell biology, genetic engineering and bioinformatics of insects and infectious disease pathogens (Vector-borne diseases). I am also interested in Research Ethics and more recently in One Health. I obtained my PhD and DIC from Imperial College London on malaria disease and mosquitoes. I voluntarily translated one comic on malaria disease from English to Arabic and published by the European Commission EVIMalar. I am very interested in translation of modern biomedical sciences, public health and genomics. The current research projects are on on mosquitoes and arboviral diseases like dengue and Zika.
Currently, I am the director of the Public Health Pests Laboratory of Jeddah Governorate, Saudi Arabia, December, 2014-January, 2018.
