Mrs. Oum Keltoum Hakam is a Professor at the University of Ibn Tofail (UIT), Morocco. She has a PhD in Nuclear Physics. She is the Director of Nuclear Physics and Techniques Research Unit.
Prof. Hakam serves currently as member of the Advisory Group on Nuclear Security to the Director General of the IAEA and former Chair of the IAEA-International Nuclear Security Education Network (INSEN).
Prof. Hakam has been invited to lecture on nuclear security around the world and has published research papers on nuclear security, radiation protection and other topics related environmental radioactivity.
In 2015, Prof. Hakam initiated a Women in Nuclear Security Group that encouraged young female to take the lead in a male-dominated environment.
In October 2017, she initiated and organized the first IAEA Regional School on Nuclear Security in French for Francophone Africa, in Kenitra, Morocco.
She is an active member of several national and international professional associations in nuclear field such as Women in Nuclear (WiN), International Radiation Protection Association (IRPA), Institute of Nuclear Materials Managements (INMM). She is the Founder of INMM-University of Ibn Tofail Student Chapter.
