Road Safety and Crash Modeling Sustainability Issues in Transportation
Biography
Anna Granà is Professor in Road, Railways, Airports at University of Palermo, Italy. She earned her PhD in Road Infrastructure Engineering at University of Palermo in 2002. Research activity is shown by articles on journals or proceedings of national and international conferences. Her areas of research and expertise include functional design of road geometry of intersections, roundabouts and turbo-roundabouts, safety and reliability of transport infrastructures, crash modelling, capacity modelling and transport simulation. She has been member of the Research Units at University of Palermo for various National Relevant Research Programs. Her professional experience includes the scientific cooperation contract with University of Palermo on “Collection and analysis of international experiences in the field of Road Safety Audit”. Since 2012 is Editor-in-chief for the Journal of Sustainable Development and the Associate Editor of the International Journal of Statistics and Probability of the Canadian Center of Science and Education. She is also member of editorial teams in journals on transportation topics. Since 2003 she is member of SIIV (Italian Society of Road Railway and Airport Infrastructures), and she wrote the SIIV newsletter on Le Strade (in Italian) from 2007 to 2014. Anna Granà has participated in several congresses; in many cases she was called for presentation of her own papers. She won the SIIV Research award for the best paper presented at the 2008 SIIV annual meeting.
