Biography
Dr Electrical Engineer, Director of the Mechatronics & Systems Automation (MeSA) Lab till 2010, Consultant, Educator, Mentor.
I teach courses in a wide variety of subjects, such as Mechatronics, Industrial Control Systems, Bioengineering, CADD, Business Administration & Management, Health & Safety at work, Project Management and Standards & Standardisation, but I cooperate also with industries solving their relative to automation problems.
I keep up with developments in my field by reading scholarly articles, talking with colleagues and participating in professional conferences.
As the Director of MeSA Lab, I often spend a large portion of my time conducting research, such as experiments, document analysis, or critical reviews, publishing journal papers using my findings and applying for grants to fund our research

I’ve taught large classes of several hundred students, small classes of about 40 to 50 students, seminars with just a few students, or laboratories where students practice the subject matter. I’ve worked with an increasingly varied student population as more part-time, older, and culturally diverse students are coming to our university. I’ve also worked with many businesses that range from DIANA Thrace paper-mill to start-up ventures. I have a great deal of experience in teaching, in researching and in managing R&D projects.
My research interests include Mechatronics–Automation Systems–Robotics. Intelligent & autonomous robots (humanoids, animated, underwater, flying, etc). Data Fusion–sensors, WSN. Industry & Home automation, CPS, IoT, IIoT, FoF, IoE, Industry 4.0. Safety of mechatronics systems. Standards & Certification. Project Management.
