Biography
Dr. Andreas Kanavos received his Diploma as well as the Master of Science Degree from the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics at University of Patras (CEID) in 2008 and 2012, respectively. In 2015, he completed his PhD thesis in the field of Data Mining with title “Semantic Web Search: Clustering, Indexing and Labelling Techniques”. Since 2012, he is a researcher at the Laboratory of Graphics, Multimedia and GIS of the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics. From September 2005 till 2015, he was a researcher at the Computer Technology Institute and Press "Diophantus" and has participated in several Projects of this Institute. He is now an Adjunct Professor at the Hellenic Open University in the course entitled “PLS-50: Fundamental Specialization in Theory and Software (for the Master's in Information System MSc course)”, an Adjunct Lecturer at the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics at University of Patras and Adjunct Lecturer at the Department of Computer and Informatics Engineering at Technological Educational Institute of Western Greece. His research interests span the broad areas of Data Mining, Graph Mining, Social Network Analysis, Information Retrieval, Data Structures, Bioinformatics and String Algorithmic. He has published over 55 papers in refereed scientific conferences and journals.
