Associate Professor Chunlu Liu of the School of Architecture and Built Environment at Deakin University has been the Associate Head of School (International) since March 2017 after being the Associate Head of School (Research) for three years. He was the director of postgraduate construction management courses from 2010 and 2016, while he developed the courses for international students. He has been the inaugural chair and lecturer of five current units in the School, which are Construction Information Systems, Project Planning and Scheduling, Introduction to Construction Research, Construction Research Thesis, and Construction Research Paper. Associate Professor Chunlu Liu supervised the first Master of Construction Management (Research) and the first construction management PhD student of Deakin University. Currently as the principal supervisor, he is supervising eight PhD students and sixteen postgraduate research students. His current research interests are modelling, measuring and simulating of construction processes and products, and examples of some research projects are: geographical information systems based resilience evaluation of design and construction of university campuses, sustainable assessment techniques of lifecycle building performances, solar energy estimation of building envelope and its systematic use, and temporal and spatial interpretation of data in the construction industry.
