Dr. Mohamed Salama PhD, MBA, BSc (Hons), FHEA, MCMI, MPMI
Mohamed is currently the Director of Corporate Executive Relations and the former Head of the School of Management and Languages, Heriot Watt University, Dubai Campus. In addition, he is the academic head of strategy, operations and projects. Dr. Salama has been the Programme Director for Four Masters Programmes including MSc in Strategic Project Management since 2006 and has supervised over 250 Masters and PhD thesis. He is a PhD examiner for PhD in Construction Project Management. Dr. Salama has over 50 publications. His textbook on Project Management released in 2016, is the teaching textbook at Heriot Watt University and his latest textbook “Principles of Sustainable Project Management”, released in October 2018 presents a new model for managing sustainable Projects amid the digital transformation era, with emphasis on the role of technology and particularly Blockchain as the most popular platform so far. He is the Academic Chair of the Middle East Summit for lean and Agile Project Management; an International Annual Conference that has been taking place in Dubai since 2016.
Dr. Salama currently sits on the Academic Council and the Quality and standards committee at Heriot Watt University for the second term. He is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Association of Researchers in Construction Management in the UK since 2010. In addition, Mohamed is a visiting Professor at Skema University, France and AAU, Amman, Jordan and is a regular speaker in key events in the UK and the UAE.
Dr. Salama has over 30 years of academic and industrial experience in Project Management, Marketing, Strategy and Mergers & Acquisitions. Mohamed has taken senior management posts in Construction Management, Marketing and Mergers & Acquisitions in ME, Italy and UK over the period 1990 – 2002. Mohamed has several TV appearances on different local and international Channels in the UAE as an expert in Sustainability and digital transformation with emphasis on Business Models and the application of technology in management. Since 2002, Dr. Salama has been delivering training workshops for executives in the UK, Middle East, and Denmark. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HE) in Scotland and a member of the Project Management Institute PMI (USA), The Chartered Management Institute (CMI-UK), and The Association of Researchers in Construction Management (ARCOM) in the UK.
