Biography
ARSALAN AHMAD received his PhD in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Politecnico di Torino, Italy in Feb 2014. His research area was energy efficiency in optical network planning. Earlier, he received the M.Sc degree in Communication Engineering from Politecnico di Torino, Italy in 2010. After completing his PhD, he has worked as a post doc researcher at Politecnico di Torino, Italy on the physical layer aware design of fixed and flexible grid optical networks. Afterwards, he has joined NUST SEECS as Assistant Professor in August 2015. In summer of 2019, he was a visiting research fellow at CONNECT research centre, Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. He serves as a reviewer of IEEE/OSA Journal of lightwave technology (JLT), Journal of optical communication and networking (JOCN) and Wiley International Journal of Communication Systems (IJCS). His main research interests include optical networks, energy efficiency in network planning and PON based 5G fronthaul solutions.
