Biography
S.Prabakar is Professor and Head, Department of Biomedical Engineering, Dr. N.G.P. Institute of Technology, Coimbatore affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. He received a Bachelor of Engineering in Instrumentation and Control Engineering from Madurai Kamaraj University, India in 1999. He has a good academic record with Master of Engineering and PhD Degree in the faculty of Information and Communication Engineering from College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University specialized in Medical Electronics and Medical Image Processing during 2006 and 2014 (Advisor Professor K Porkumaran).
He is a Member of IEEE, Life member of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and Biomedical Engineering Society of India. He has 3 years of experience in Medical Electronics Industries, 14 years of experience in Teaching, Research and 10 years experience in Academic Administration. His research interests include Graphical System Design, Medical Image/Video Processing, Bio Signal Processing, Bio-Modeling, Evolutionary Computing and Bio Virtual Instrumentation. He has published around 48 technical papers in reputed National and International Journals and Conferences and Book Chapters. He is the member of board of studies for framing the CBCS Syllabi R-2017 for UG degree programmes (BME & Med. Elect.) of the Constituent Colleges and Affiliated Institutions Anna University, Chennai. He served as convener, editor and reviewer for many National and International Conferences and Journals with high repute. He also handled a number of industry/government funded projects and schemes. He is highly enthusiastic for career change and eager to contribute to the society through technology presentation, training, supervisory management and problem solving.
