Dr. Ahmad N. AL-Omari received his B.S. degree in Electronics Engineering from Yarmouk University, Irbid, Jordan in 1995 and completed both his M.S. and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering from Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado, in 2002 and 2006 respectively. From 1995 to 2000 he was a Lab Engineer at the Dept. of Electronics Engineering, Hijjawi Faculty for Eng. Technology, Yarmouk University. During his graduate studies at Colorado State University he was a graduate research assistant from 9/2000 to 6/2005 and a Semiconductor Processing Cleanlab manager and a postdoctoral fellow at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Dept., Colorado State University from 7/2005 to 8/2006. From 8/2006 to 9/2010 he was an assistant professor at the Dept. of Electronics Engineering, Hijjawi Faculty for Eng. Technology, Yarmouk University. Since 9/2010 he is the chairman of the Electronics Engineering Dept. His research is focused on design, fabrication, characterization and modeling of high speed oxide confined vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs), dielectrics for high speed devices as well as optical biomedical sensors
Dr. AL-Omari has actively published and presented his work in a number of journals and conferences. He is currently a member of IEEE, the IEEE-Lasers & Electro-Optics Society (IEEE-LEOS), the honor Society for Electrical and Computer Engineering, Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) Delta Pi Chapter, and the Jordan Engineers Association, (JEA). He is also a previous member of the IEEE Communications Society (2003-2004, 2007-2008), the International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE) (2003-2006), the Optical Society of America (OSA) (2003-2006), and the IET (2003-2006).
Mr. AL-Omari is currently a reviewer for the IEEE Photonics Technology Letter, OSA Optics Express, SPIE Optical Engineering Letters, Journal of Optics and Lasers in Engineering, ELSEVIER and the Journal of Semiconductor Science and Technology (SST), Institute of Physics (IOP)
