Biography
Full Professor (tenured) in the Department of Systems and Informatics at the University of Caldas. Systems Engineer from the Autonomous University of Manizales, Ph.D. in Informatics from the University of Salamanca, Senior Researcher recognized by MinCiencias, Leader of the Artificial Intelligence Research Group at the University of Caldas, MinCiencias peer reviewer, international evaluator for the Iberus program in Spain, and member of the AIR Institute (International Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence). Visiting Professor at the Universities of Salamanca and Zaragoza (Spain), the Ciudad Guzmán Institute of Technology (Mexico), the University of Minho (Portugal), and the Technological University of Panama. Member of the Colombian Computing Society, Artificial Intelligence chapter. Coordinator of the Master's Program in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at the University of Caldas, and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Caldas from 2014 to 2018.
Member of CODECTI (Departmental Council for Science, Technology and Innovation of the Department of Caldas) 2014–2016. Professor in the Doctoral Programs in Engineering at the University of Caldas, Cognitive Sciences (Autonomous University of Manizales), and Industrial Engineering and Organizations at the National University of Colombia, Manizales Campus.
Coordinator of Node 3, "Colombia Towards a New Productive, Competitive and Sustainable Model," of the Mission of Wise Ones for Caldas (Misión de Sabios por Caldas), 2020–2021.
