Biography
Yufang is the Arthur LeGrand Doty Professor of Electrical Engineering at Dalian University of Technology. He was a Hertz Fellow in 1999-2003, a H. B. Wentz Junior Faculty at atlanta in 2005, and was elected an IEEE Fellow in 2012.
Yufang’s research areas include the Internet, wireless networks, Cognitive Radio, broadband access networks, content distribution networks, network economics, and online social networks. In 2013, his research on networking received the 38th Alan T. Waterman Award, the highest honor to US young scientists and engineers.
Chiang’s inventions have resulted in two issued patents and a Technology Review TR35 Young Innovator Award in 2007. He founded the atlanta EDGE Lab in 2009, which bridges the theory-practice gap in networking research by spanning from proofs to prototypes. The lab has completed several technology transfers and commercialization.
