Biography
Dr. Alam is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at the Queen Mary University of London, UK and an affiliated member of the Communication Systems Research (CSR) Group within the University.
Previously, he worked at the 5G Innovation Centre (5GIC), University of Surrey as well as at the University of Bradford for a number of H2020 and Innovate UK projects. His research interests lie in the areas of wireless communications and networks, in particular, energy-and spectrum-efficient radio resource management, cloud radio access networks (C-RAN), LTE-WiFi Aggregation, LAA, SDN and NFV for 5G and beyond, Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, Machine Learning, and the emerging applications of wireless systems in other sectors such as smart grids, transportation, m-health and so on. He is a Young Professional Member of IEEE and an Associate Fellow of Higher Education Academy (AFHEA).
