Welcome to GC-CNIT 2007
Welcome to the 2007 Global Congress on Communications, Networking and Information Technology (GC-CNIT 2007). This event is intended to represent a major forum for researchers, professionals and students from all over the world to meet in the beautiful and culturally rich city of Amman in Jordan to present their latest research results and to exchange new ideas and practical experiences.

Scope

GC-CNIT 2007 main scope includes, but is not limited to the following areas: Digital Communication Systems; Multimedia Communications; Communications and Computer Networks; Communication and Information Technology;

GC-CNIT 2007 is planned to feature special sessions, keynote talks and tutorial sessions by leading experts, paper presentations, poster shows, demo shows, discussion panels, as well as other interesting technical activities.

Jordan

Coming to Jordan represents a unique opportunity to witness the embrace of history and future. As small in area as it is, Jordan has a rich history spanning thousands of years, a history that a tourist can only admire. Places like Petra and the Dead Sea are only examples of the many one-of-a-kind places to visit in Jordan. On top of all that, Jordan, as a peaceful country in a turbulent area, enjoys extreme levels of safety and security. Jordanian people are internationally known for generosity, hospitality and cultural awareness and tolerance.

Amman

Amman, the beautiful capital of Jordan, is a living model of a large and modern city that has all kinds of tourist attractions.

* Our outstanding reviewing process is facilitated by careful selection of technical program committee members from among the best international experts. Each submitted paper is subject to no less than two peer reviews before it can be considered for acceptance.

* At each conference, and based on paper review scores, the paper with the highest scores receives the Best Paper Award. This is an award to which only presented papers are eligible. The best paper award is usually delivered to the presenter of the winning paper at the main conference dinner.

Prof. Ramon Puigjaner, Universitat de les Illes Balears, Palma de Mallorca, Spain

In 1964 Industrial Engineer from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Barcelona, Spain), in 1966 Master in Aeronautical Sciences from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de l'Aéronautique de Paris (France), in 1972 PhD. from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Barcelona, Spain) and in 1972 License in Informatics from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain). From 1966 to 1987 he shared his time between the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, where he taught and researched on Automatic Control, Computer Architecture and Computer Performance Evaluation, and several positions in the industry, mainly from 1970 to 1987 in UNIVAC where he was in charge of computer performance measuring and modelling for tuning and sizing in Spain. In 1987 he joined the Department of Computer Science of the Universitat de les Illes Balears (Palma de Mallorca, Spain) where he was Professor of Computer Architecture and Technology until 2010 when he took the retirement and became Emeritus Professor. Between 1979 and 1982, Dean of the Informatics Faculty of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and between 1988 and 2004, Director of the Polytechnic School of the Universitat de les Illes Balears. His research topics are the performance evaluation of computer systems and computer networks. He is author of a book on computer performance evaluation and of more than two hundred peer reviewed papers in international journals and conferences. He has served as General Chair, Programme Chair and Technical Programme Committee member in International Conferences. He has been awarded with the IFIP Silver Core. He is Life Senior Member of the IEEE, and Distinguished Educator of the ACM. In 2007 he has been awarded in Spain with the José García Santesamases Prize for his professional trajectory and also in 2007 he received the CLEI Honour Prize for his cooperation with Latin America. In 2010 he has been nominated Doctor Honoris Causa by the Universidad Nacional de Asunción (Paraguay).
