Biography
A. Al-Dweik (S'9-M'01-SM'04) received the B.A. degree in Telecommunication Engineering from Yarmouk University, Jordan, in 1994, the MSc and the PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering from Cleveland State University, Cleveland, Ohio, in 1998 and 2001, respectively. He joined Efficient Channel Coding Incorporated from 1999-2001 where he was a Research and Development Engineer working on advanced modulation, coding, and synchronization techniques. From 2001-2003 he was an assistant professor at the department of Information Technology at the Arab American University in Palestine. He is currently an associate professor at the Communications Engineering Department, Khalifa University, UAE. He is also a Visiting Fellow at Newcastle University, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. His research interests include synchronization techniques, OFDM technology, modeling and simulation of communication systems, error control coding, and spread spectrum systems. Dr. Al-Dweik is a senior member of the IEEE, a member of Tau Beta Pi, and Eta Kappa Nu. He was awarded the Fulbright scholarship from 1997-1999, he received the Hijjawi Award of Applied Sciences in 2003 and the Fulbright Alumni Development Grant in 2003 and 2005.
