BORIVOJ MODLIC is professor of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing in Zagreb. He was born in Zagreb, Croatia in 1950. He received the B.Sc.E.E., M.Sc.E.E. and Ph.D. degree from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in 1972, 1974 and 1976 respectively. His professional career began at the same faculty in 1973 and has been working there by now. At inception he was appointed young assistant, then promoted to senior assistant, assistant professor, associate professor and in 1992 professor. He was appointed vice-dean from 1992 to 1994. From 1996 to 2000 and since 2004 he has been head of Radiocommunications and Microwave Engineering department. He was honoured for his M.Sc. thesis with the "Josip Lonèar" honour, and for his Ph.D. thesis he received honour at the Patents Exhibition in Rijeka, Croatia in 1977. His scientific and professional activities have been in the fields of RF power systems, broadcasting, wireless technologies and electromagnetic compatibility. His academic work has been published in six university textbooks: "Radiofrequency Electronics - Oscillators, Power Amplifiers" (1982), "Radiofrequency Electronics - Modulation and Modulators, Frequency Synthesizers" (1982), "Oscillations and Oscillators" (1991), "RF Power Amplifiers" (1992), "Modulation and Modulators" (1995) and "Mixing, Mixers and Frequency Synthesizers" (1995). The publisher received "Strossmayer Honour" for the exceptional edition of the series of last four books. Borivoj Modlic published outcomes of his scientific activities in national journals and at international and national conferences. He was a member of AUTOMATIKA journal Editorial Board and Board of Executive Editors from 1991 to 2004. The Croatian Ministry of Science and Technology appointed him member of the council responsible for the publishing affairs for the period from 1994 to 2004. From 1980 to 1989 he was a member of a national delegation at several International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) meetings.
