Louise Yngström is a professor emeritus in Computer and Systems Sciences with specialization in Security Informatics in the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences at the Stockholm University. She started one of the very first interdisciplinary academic IT security programmes in the world in 1985, naming it “Security Informatics”. She was awarded her PhD in 1996 for the introduction of a methodology for such academic programmes, named the “Systemic-Holistic Approach” where “Soft” and “hard” science approach for IT security issues are mixed. Being one of the pioneers in the field of systems sciences and security in Sweden, she has been with the department since 1968. She has been engaged in various activities nationally and internationally, including the International Federation of Information Processing (IFIP), since 1973; the Technical Committee 3(TC3) with an educational scope, the TC9 with focus on social accountabilities of ICT structures and the TC11 with focus on ICT security mentioning a few. Also, she was engaged in European networking for curricula developments within ICT security and the Secured Electronic Information in Society working for e-Identities during the 1990’s.
