Current position is an assistant professor for Electrical and Communication in Electro-mechanical Eng. Dept.at the University of Technology in Baghdad. Dr. Ibtesam has got awarded with research grants from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)many times. Alsaedi was visitor researcher at the University of Freiburg/Germany, and scientific staff at the department of Microsystem Engineering and worked as a faculty staff of Applied Science at the University of Freiburg in 2007/08; Also, visitor for Electrical and Computer Eng. Dept. at Auburn University in US on 2013. She earned a B.Sc. (1987) in electrical engineering and a M.Sc. (1994) and Ph.D.(2003) in communication and electronic engineering from the University of Technology, Baghdad, worked about 25 years in higher Education in Iraq.
Since 1994 , she had lectured in different universities at different departments like electrical engineering, computer science and computer engineering. Also , during her worked at university of Technology. Her last research interests include design and implementation microelectronic system, computer network, wireless Sensor networks, Hardware programming, IT strategic planning during her supervision for many students in master and Ph.D. She had published more than 25 papers some of them: Virtual Analog Modulation Lab, A 10Gb/s Bit Rate RoF Using SCM/ASK Based On Bidirectional Optical Fiber With Presence of Self Phase Modulation, Developing an Information Technology Strategy for Higher education in Iraq, Performance Analysis of the Multilayer Campus Design, Design of A campus Network by using Asynchronous Transfer Mode, The Effect of Decoding Iterations on the Performance of Turbo Code,A hall Probe for Measuring a.c & d.c Magnetic Fields,Microprocessor Based Instructional system for Control Robot,Design & Implementation Instructional Lap for Microprocessor Engineering Application.
