Biography
Maha Elsabrouty received her BSc. in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering, with honors from Cairo University, Egypt. She received the M.Sc. and PhD, both degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Ottawa. During her years of study in the University of Ottawa she was the recipient of the University of Ottawa International admission scholarship. She is a member of both the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Canadian Acoustics Association (CAA). Dr. Elsabrouty worked an assistant professor in the German University in Cairo (GUC). She also taught courses in the department of media engineering. Dr. Elsabrouty was the counselor and founder of the IEEE chapter in the GUC and has been in the team involved in establishing the first digital media campus in Egypt and middle-east located at the GUC.During the summer of 2006, she has been working as a visiting researcher in Fraunhofer Institute in Erlangen, Germany with research focus on digital media broadcasting. Dr. Elsabrouty was also affiliated with the Arab academy for science and technology and several industrial companies in the field of information technology and wireless communications.
Currently, Dr. Elsabrouty is with the E-JUST University. Her current research interest focuses on advanced methods of channel coding, MIMO coding, Cognitive radio and implementation of DSP algorithms, communication systems and green communication.
