Tatiana Balikhina received her MSc. In computer engineering from Electrical Engineering Institute, St. Petersburg, Russia, 1989 on her research in image processing. Since graduation she has been involved in developing software for business applications. She was a database administrator and main developer for finance department at Petra University (PU) from 1998 – 2002. She joined the Faculty of Information Technology 2004 as teacher assistant. She was awarded a PhD in computer science in 2005 for her work on network architectures for large scale distributed virtual environments. Since 2005 she is an assistant professor in the Faculty of Information Technology at PU. She is involved in research relating to network architectures, distributed virtual environments, image processing, network performance, computer and internet security awareness.
