The concept of self organized backbones in wireless networks using distributed localized computations is innovated by Dr.S.Smys. The results are published in well known impact factor journals like Springer-cluster computing, wireless personal communication and Elsevier- computers and electrical engg. Also based on the subject knowledge he will be nominating as a reviewer for five refereed journals (IEE communication, Elsevier, Springer and china communication). He is very much interested in Indian defense and receives the funding around 12 laks from DRDO in May 2012. This work used to extend the connectivity of soldier wireless networks with localized computations. He is planning to establish a wireless research lab for the benefit of the students from the funding project. He also guided 14 M.Tech and 20 B.Tech projects for the past eight years. He is finished the Ph.D work with in three years. He visited two countries abroad for exchange the knowledge with foreigners. Through the IASTE students exchange program he will give the guidance to Croatia student.
