Biography
Luay Tahat is an Assistant Professor in the Management Information Systems Department. He has been an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department since 2008. Prior to that, Dr. Tahat was the lead Mobile Network Solution Architect at Alcatel-Lucent in Naperville, USA. In addition, He was also a part time professor at IIT, Chicago, USA.
Dr. Tahat has more than 16 years of professional networking experience at AT&T, Lucent Technologies/Bell Labs, Alcatel-Lucent, and IBM over mobile and fixed networks. In his time at the industry, He has held several positions in software development for advance GSM features, system engineering for VoIP, system design for 3rd Generation Mobile Switching Center, lead solution architect for mobile solution, and finally a lead Project Manager for consumer voice over IP (cVoIP) and IP Television (IPTV). Dr. Tahat was part of the team who designed and architected Alcatel-Lucent 3rd Generation Mobile and VoIP switches. In addition, Dr. Tahat contributed to several journals and conference proceedings in the area of software engineering and wireless technology. The results of his research were published in more than 14 conferences and Journals papers.
