Biography Masao Kasahara received his Dr.E degree from Osaka University in 1965. He joined Osaka University as an Assistant Professor in 1970 after spending his visiting fellowship at Bell Labs. He was a Professor at Kyoto Institute of Technology (KIT) from 1978 through 2000, and was a Professor at Osaka Gakuin University (OGU) from 2000 through 2012. He is now a Professor Emeritus at KIT and OGU. His research interest includes Information Theory, Coding Theory, and Information Security. He is an IEEE Life Fellow, and an IEIEC Fellow.
