Biography Richard Demo Souza was born in Florianópolis, Brazil, in 1978. He received the B.Sc. and the D.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Florianópolis, Brazil, in 1999 and 2003, respectively. From March 2003 to November 2003 he was a Visiting Researcher in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Delaware, USA. Since April 2004 he has been with the Federal University of Technology - Paraná (UTFPR), Curitiba, Brazil, where he is now an Associate Professor. His research interests are in the area of error control coding and wireless communications.
