Dr. Melike Erol-Kantarci is a postdoctoral fellow at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Ottawa. She received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Computer Engineering, Istanbul Technical University, Turkey, in 2004 and 2009, respectively. During her Ph.D., she was a Fulbright visiting researcher at the Department of Computer Science, University of California Los Angeles. Her main research interests are wireless sensor networks, underwater sensor networks, smart grid communications and cyber-physical systems. She has over 40 refereed journal articles and conference papers. She has delivered invited talks at various venues including Communications Research Center (CRC) of Canada, Turkish Naval Research Center, National Research Council of Canada, University of Ottawa and University of Carleton. She has served as a TPC member for many IEEE conferences. Currently she is serving on the TPC of European Signal Processing Conference 2012 (EUSIPCO), IEEE Symposium on Computers and Communications 2012 (ISCC), GLOBECOM - Ad Hoc and Sensor Networking Symposium 2012, Local Computer Networks 2012 (LCN), International Conference on Ambient Systems, Networks and Technologies 2012 and the Workshop on Wireless Ad hoc and Sensor Networks (WWASN) 2012. She is the publicity co-chair of ISCC 2012 and Int. Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing 2012 (WCSP). She is an IEEE member.
