o Vadxx Energy, Ohio, USA: Front end design of a plastic to oil pyrolysis plant. Selection of materials for HF and HCl vapour stream at operating temperatures of up to 450 ⁰C. Design of fixed bed reactors, columns, scrubbers and utilities. Design of HCl scrubbers and HCl absorbers operating at 350 ⁰C. Safety and operational review of the proposed plant scaled up from laboratory to commercial scale.
o Cabot Carbon, Wales UK: Review of safety of converting a batch Silica coating process to a continuous process. Generation of the process basis of safety document.
o Confidential Client: Investigation report into the cause of a fire / explosion in a secondary pharmaceutical powder transfer process including recommendations to ensure future safe operation.
o GSK, China: Scheme design of a thermal oxidiser for air emissions from open (manual) and closed (automated) tablet coating pans. HAZOP leader on the proposed scheme design. SIL assessment.
o Lake Region Medical, Co. Waterford: ATEX assessment of a semi-continuous coating machine.
o GSK Dungarvan, Co. Waterford: Safety assessment of existing dust filters and consequence analysis of dust filter explosions.
o PepsiCo, Netherland: Energy study of a potato chip manufacturing facility: recommendation of changing the process to increase energy efficiency of the facility before implementing other measures.
