Biography
Ioannis G. Tigelis was born in Lamia in 1964. He has Diploma (1986) and PhD (1990) in Electrical Engineering both from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). In 1992 he joined the Faculty of Physics, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), where now he is Associate Professor. His research interests include Microwave Theory and Techniques, Waves Propagation, Theory and Applications of Antennas. He has over 100 publications in scientific journals, conference proceedings and technical reports. Since 1999 he is the Principal Investigator and Head of the Research Team of NKUA in the research project "National Programme of Controlled Thermonuclear Fusion", while since 2010 he is Technical Director of the Greek participation in the research project "Design and Development of the European Gyrotron".
