Katauyuki Umezawa received the B. E. and M. E. degrees from the Waseda University, Japan, in 1994 and 1996, respectively. He received the Ph. D. degree from the Waseda University, Japan, in 2007. He joined Hitach, Ltd. in 1996. From 1998 to 2000, he joined Hitachi Computer Products (America) Inc. From 2000, he came back to Hitachi, Ltd. From 2010, He is a part‐time teacher of Shonan Institute of Technology, Japan, and a visiting researcher of Cyber Unibersity, Japan. From 2012, He is a visiting research scholar of Waseda University, Japan. His research interests include the distributed object systems, mobile security, smartcard security, and virtualization technologies.
