M. Ghavami received the PhD degree from the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany, in 1993.
Currently, he is a Professor of Telecommunications Engineering in the Department of Engineering
and Design, London South Bank University. Prior
to this appointment, he was with King’s College
London from 2002 to 2010. He is the author of
the book Ultra Wideband Signals and Systems, the
co-author of the book Adaptive Antenna Systems,
and has published numerous technical papers in
major international journals and conferences on
areas related to ultra wideband, smart antennas, and communications networks. From 1998 to 2000, he was a JSPS Postdoctoral Fellow in Yokohama National University. From 2000 to 2002, he was with Sony Computer Science Laboratories, Tokyo. He has been the Guest Editor of the IEE Proceedings Communications, Special Issue on Ultra Wideband Systems in 2006, and the Associate Editor of the Special Issue of the IEICE Journal on Ultra Wideband Communications in 2005. Dr. Ghavami has won two invention awards from Sony Ltd.
