Iwan Adhicandra received a B.Eng in Electrical Engineering from Trisakti University, Jakarta, Indonesia, in 1998, with a thesis titled "Implementation of PCNs using DCS 1800", and then continued to work as an Assistant Lecturer at the same department. In September 1999 he went to University of Sheffield, United Kingdom, to read for M.Sc in Data Communications in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and to spend eight months as a Researcher at the Centre for Mobile Communications Research (C4MCR) with the research area of UMTS Implementation using cdma2000 and Interoperability with Mobile IPv6. In October 2001 he joined Leeds Metropolitan University, United Kingdom, as a Researcher in the Computer Communications Research Group (CCRG) with the research area of Performance Evaluation of Mobile Agents in Network Management Operations funded by LMU Research Grant. During the appointment he also worked as a Lecturer and completed a PGCert in Research Methodology in 2004. In October 2006 he went to Politecnico di Torino, Italy, as a recipient of Asian Countries Grant and read for Master 2nd Level in Wireless Systems and Related Technologies in the Faculty of Information Engineering. From June to September 2007 he was with Philips Research, Eindhoven, The Netherlands, as a Researcher in the Connectivity Systems and Networks Group (Cosine) with the research area of Cognitive Transmission in Wireless LAN systems. In October 2007 he joined Telecommunication Networks Research Group at the Department of Information Engineering, University of Pisa, Italy. He is a member of IEEE, ACM, IEE, BCS and FIPA.
