Undergraduate studies at the Higher Institute of Technology (HTI, HND in Electrical Engineering, 1993) and the University of South Florida (USF, BSc. in Electrical Engineering, 1997). Graduate Studies with partial CASP scholarship from the Cyprus Fulbright Commission at the Georgia Institute of Technology (GaTech, MSc in Electrical Engineering, 1999 and Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2002). He held the positions of Assistant Professor at the Computer Science Department of INTERCOLLEGE (Sep. 2002-Jan. 2004), Visiting Lecturer at the Computer Science Department of the University of Cyprus (Jan 2004-Aug. 2005), and Lecturer at the Computer Science Department of the University of Cyprus (Aug 2005-Aug. 2011). Since 2011 he is an Assistant Professor at the Computer Science Department of the University of Cyprus. He is also the Assistant Director of the Networks Research Laboratory (NetRL) at UCY. Vasos is a Member of the IEEE, the ACM, the IET (former IEE), the Cyprus Computer Society (CCS), and the Cyprus Technical and Scientific Chamber (ETEK).
Research interests include protocol design and performance aspects of networks. In particular: Mobility Management, QoS adaptation and control, Resource Allocation techniques, Wireless Sensor Networks (topology, congestion, and mobility control, security), and Internet of Things.
