Dr. Muhammad Imran is a Lecturer in CCSR. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Imperial College London, UK. He is leading the self-organising cellular networks' research theme in a collaborative project on Next Generation Networks under India-UK Advanced Technology Centre. He is also working on EU funded project EARTH (focusing on improving energy efficiency of next generation of cellular networks) and had significant contributions to the Fundamental Capacity Limits project funded by Mobile VCE UK. His research interests include the derivation of information theoretic performance limits, self-organisation and cooperative communication systems with specific emphasis on base station cooperation and distributed antenna systems.
