Dr. Kamran Arshad is a Research Fellow in Centre of Communication Systems Research (CCSR), University of Surrey, UK. He received his Bachelor of Engineering degree in 2000, Master of Science degree in 2003 all in Electrical Engineering and with distinction. He completed his PhD in computing science with major as Telecommunications in 2007. He has more than 20 publications in peer reviewed Journals and International Conferences. Dr Arshad received best student paper award at 6th WSEAS International Conference on Telecommunications and Informatics (TELEINFO'07) held in Dallas USA in 2007. He received another best paper award at 5th International Conference on Applied Electromagnetic, Wireless and Optical Communications held at Corfu Island, Greece in August 2005. Dr Arshad research work includes channel modelling, characterization, spectrum sensing, spectrum and radio resource management for 3G/4G systems. He worked in EU FP7 IP project named “End to End Efficiency†and seeking efficient solutions for Dynamic Spectrum Allocation and mechanisms for Collaborative Spectrum Sensing. Currently, he is contributing in EU FP7 IP project “QoSMOS†which started in January 2010.
