Ashraf Samarah was born in Irbid, Jordan, in 1980. He received the B.E. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST), Irbid, Jordan, in 2003 and 2006, respectively and Ph.D. degree in electrical engi-neering from University of Siegen, Siegen, Germany, in 2012. In 2012, he joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, Isra University, as a Lecturer and in 2015 became the head of electrical engineering department and the director of Zarqa Energy Research Center (ZERC) in Zarqa University in Jordan. His current research interests include power electronics, remote sensing and renewable energy systems. He is a team leader for a research group in tele-communication engineering systems in Zarqa University in Jordan. Dr. Samarah won the prize of the best teaching award in Isra Uni-versity- Jordan in 2015.
Mr. Samarah is working as a consultant for 17 MW PV station in Assalt for Al- Balqa Applied University (BAU), and assistant professor in the electrical Energy Engineering Department in BAU (The center)
