Biography
Dr. Issam Smadi received the B.S. degree in electromechanical systems from Al-Balqa’ Applied University in 2000, the M.S. degree in control and power engineering from the Jordan University of Science and Technology in 2003, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from Yokohama National University, Yokohama, Japan in 2009. From 2009 to 2011, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Yokohama National University. From 2011 to 2013, he was with the Fuji Electric Systems Company, Ltd., Tokyo, Japan as an R&D electrical engineer. Since September 2013 he has been an assistant professor with the department of electrical engineering, Jordan University of Science and Technology. His research interests include linear and nonlinear control theory, control of power electronics, electric drive, and electric machines. Dr. Smadi is a member of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society and the Power Electronics Society
