| Biography |
Omar M. Bataineh received his B.Sc. degree from Jordan University of Science and Technology (J.U.S.T.), Irbid, Jordan in 1997, and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from University of Minnesota (UMN), Minneapolis, USA in 2000 and 2004, respectively.
He joined the Department of Industrial Engineering as an Assistant Professor at Jordan University of Science and Technology, Irbid, Jordan in July 2004. Then, he earned three years of leave to serve as an Assistant Professor at Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University (PMU), Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia between Sep. 2009 – Aug. 2012. After being promoted to the rank of Associate Professor at J.U.S.T. in Apr. 2013, he spent a Sabatical year at the American University of the Middle East (AUM) in Kuwait between Jan. 2015 and Feb. 2016. Currently, he acts as the Chairman of the I.E. Department of J.U.S.T.
Dr. Bataineh had a consulting and training experiences provided to some international engineering firms such as Talal Abu-Ghazaleh & Co., Amman, Jordan and Macquarie Group., Abu Dhabi, UAE. He published more than 17 articles in refereed and indexed international journals and conferences. His most recent research focuses on intelligent manufacturing, applied optimization, and lean manufacturing. |
