Water and Wastewater Treatment Climate Change Impacts on Hydrology and Water Resources
Biography
Zeyad is a water treatment expert with extensive experience in the field of water, wastewater and its related environmental issues with around 10 years of experience working with donor agencies (e.g. World Bank, German Development Bank, USAID, and European Union), private and public sectors.
During his career, Zeyad gained comprehensive experience in managing full project life cycle through planning, implementation, monitoring & controlling and until project closure; and subsequently during operation and maintenance. His experience extends to proposal writing, technical and financial evaluation of proposals, contract negotiation and all until contract award. The area of expertise covers water & wastewater treatment technology and (O&M) of surface and ground water treatment plants, water resources management, water and sewerage networks, data management and analysis, training & capacity building; and climate change.
Zeyad worked at the Water Authority of Jordan (WAJ) in the field of surface and ground water treatment (Desalinization, microfiltration and pre & post treatment & ultrafiltration,), water quality monitoring & control and fixed & mobile treatment plants. During this period Zeyad was involved in addressing issues related to pollution of surface water, treatment from (hardness, E. coli, nitrate, salinity, suspended solids, turbidity, ..) and disinfecting the treated water for domestic water supply.
During the research fellowship at the TU-Braunschweig and the PhD program at Uni Koblenz. Landau, Zeyad worked in many projects related to studying the role of water treatment technologies on climate change. He also analyzed the historical pollution events and hot moment & spots; and developed its geo map during his work at Daimler AG/ Mercedes truck production line for industrial wastewater treatment and storm water management.
