Biography
Javier VÃa received the Telecommunication Engineer degree and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cantabria, Spain, in 2002 and 2007, respectively. In 2002, he joined the Department of Communications Engineering, University of Cantabria, Spain, where he is currently Associate Professor. He has spent visiting periods at the Smart Antennas Research Group of Stanford University, Stanford, CA, and at the Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering (Hong Kong University of Science and Technology). He has actively participated in several European and Spanish research projects. His current research interests include blind channel estimation and equalization in wireless communication systems, multivariate statistical analysis, quaternion signal processing, and kernel methods.
