Biography
Dr. Mohammad S. Sharawi is an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. He was a visiting research Professor at Oakland University During the summer of 2013. Prior to joining KFUPM in 2009, Dr. Sharawi was a Research Scientist with the Applied Electromagnetics and Wireless Laboratory at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, Oakland University, Michigan, USA, during 2008-2009. He was a faculty member in the Computer Engineering Department at Philadelphia University, Amman, Jordan, during 2007-2008. Dr. Sharawi was the acting head of the Computer Engineering Department at the German-Jordanian University in Amman, Jordan During 2006-2007. He served as the Organization Committee Chair of the IEEE Conference on Systems, Signals and Devices that was held in Jordan in July 2008.
Dr. Sharawi is the founder and founder and director of the AMSD laboratory at KFUPM. His research interests include RF electronics and Antenna Arrays, Applied Electromagnetics, Wireless Communications and Hardware/Embedded Systems design. He is an Associate Editor for the IEEE Consumer Electronics Magazine. He has organized several special session in International IEEE conferences and served on the technical program committees of several of them. Dr. Sharawi has published more than 80 refereed journal and conference papers and has 1 issued and 9 pending patents. Dr. Sharawi is a Senior Member in IEEE.
