José C. Segura (M’93–SM’03) received the M.S. degree in physics and the Ph.D. degree in variants of Hidden Markov Model modeling for speech from the University of Granada (UGR), Granada, Spain, in 1984 and 1991, respectively. He was an Assistant Professor of electronics with the Department of Electronics and Computer Technology, UGR, and the Vice Director of the Centre for Information Services and Communications, UGR. He was the Vice Director of the Information and Communications Technology Research Centre (CITIC), UGR. He is currently a Full Professor of Signal Theory and Communications with the Department of Signal Theory, Telematics and Communications (TSTC), UGR. He is a Reviewer for several scientific journals. His current research interests include ultrasonic signal processing, sensor networks, signal processing, communication systems, and speech recognition.
