Experimental Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer Conduction, Convection and Radiation Heat Transfer
Biography
Rami is the Director of Engineering at Phase Change Energy Solutions (PCES, North Carolina, United States) where he leads a group of scientist and engineers working on developing thermal energy storage technologies and heat exchangers for energy management and enhanced passive safety features.
Rami has a PhD in Nuclear Engineering in the field of thermal energy storage using the concept of phase transition. He was awarded an Outstanding Reviewer status "top 10th percentile reviewers" by Elsevier in recognition of the contributions he made for professional journals in Elsevier related to thermal energy storage and nuclear applications such as Energy Conversion and Management.
Areas of recent projects:
- Invented a new Heat exchanger design utilizing a novel concept of phase transition for nuclear heat transfer aspects, thermal energy storage and enhanced load-following operation (Patent App #: 62/819,257).
- Developed a thermal energy storage system to replace the conventional Ice condenser system during LOCA accidents.
- Participated in the invention and commercialization of the world's first patented gelled phase change transition products in the solid-solid form.
- Developed research proposals as a PI and Co-PI funded by the Department of Defense and Department of Energy ( $1.2M EW-201514; $1.25M DOE-1825.1513)
- Developed a heat exchanger and thermal energy storage vessels for data centers and servers.
