Biography
Rudra Prakash Maheshwari was born at Aligarh, India in 1960. He received his B.E. and M. Sc. (Engg.) degrees from A.M.U. Aligarh, India in 1982 and 1985 respectively in Electrical Engineering. He earned his Ph. D. from University of Roorkee in 1996 for his work on developments in protective relays.
He was an academic staff member with A.M.U. Aligarh; he is presently working as Professor with Department of Electrical Engineering of IIT Roorkee, India since 1998. He has published more than ninety five research papers in various International/ National Journals and conferences. His areas of interest are power system protection, developments in digital protective relay, protective relay testing and digital signal & image processing.
During his twenty five years carrier in academics he has been associate at various levels of academic administration. Due to his keen interest in student’s centric activities and commitment to the welfare of students he was given the responsibility of entry level hostel of IIT Roorkee.
Dr. Maheshwari has been twice awarded merit certificate for his papers by Institution of Engineers (India) and is member of various professional societies. Recently he has been honored by Hariom Ashram Trust Award of Sardarawarded Dr. Maheshwari is on editorial boards of International Journals in his area of interest. He is also on the panel of reviewers for various International Journals in the area of Power System. He is involved in providing consultancies in the area of small hydro power plants.
